My mother was a wonderful woman.
While her life was not always easy, she managed to be happy, and grateful for what she had.
She always found a way to see the best in people, and forgive their shortcomings.
Rita was a strong, healthy, giving, and caring - woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved taking care of her family, and she loved to dance.
She was only three years old when she lost her own mother. She once told me that it made her want to be the best mother in the world, because she knew how hard it was to grow up without a mother. She succeeded. She was the best mother in the world. Patient, kind, and always there for us.
These last several years were difficult for all of us. It was tough to watch the once vivacious woman grow increasingly restricted by her physical limitations.
We here on earth will miss her terribly every day. The good news is that she is an angel in heaven, and she suffers no more.
Rest in Peace, Ma. We will love you forever.
