Margie Hicks' Obituary

Florida. She moved to the Leesburg area in 1957 from her birthplace Slocomb, Alabama
and worked as a Secretary for the Florida Department of Revenue for over 35 years. She
will be remembered most by those close to her for sense of humor and witty banter. She

of her list of favorites. She also enjoyed going to the movies to see the latest comedies
and dramas, reading, and playing games on her Ipad. She was also a longtime volunteer
with the March of Dimes. She leaves behind to carry on her memory two loving children –
Jerry (Natalie) Hicks of Fruitland Park, Florida and Debra (Greg) Giordano of Leesburg,
Florida; 4 sisters – Myrtis Sasser of Dothan, AL; Bobbie-Jean Shirah of Slocomb, AL;
Laverne Turner of Enterprise, AL; and Betty Smith of Cottonwood, AL; 3 grandchildren she
adored – Gerri Lynn Busold (Eric), Aline Hicks, and Chelsea Bryant; 1 great-grandchild –
Nathaniel Busold; a very special niece – June Kaufman; as well as numerous other loved
nieces and nephews.

her life will take place on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:00 A. M. at the New Life Presbyterian
Church in Fruitland Park, with Rev. Jim Keegan serving as Officiant. Committal and
