Iris Russell (nee: Iris McKeogh, Iris Owen) of Leesburg, FL and formerly of Chagrin Falls
and Willoughby, Ohio.
Born in Liverpool, England 1925. Daughter of Stanley and Elizabeth Owen, sister of Violet
(Owen) Erskine (James) -all deceased. Emigrated to USA 1928. Graduated Willoughby
Union HS 1944. Ran track and played basketball. Married Hugh McKeogh (deceased
1989) 1945. Married Gordon Russell 1994. Mother of Leslee (McKeogh) Bernier (Alan)
and Timothy (Karen). Grandmother to Shannon Forman (Richard), Erin Henderson (Fred),
Kate McKeogh-Jones (Jeff), Michael McKeogh, Meghan McKeogh. Great Grandmother to
Kyle and Leighann Forman, Keeley McKeogh, Cole and Mason Henderson. Held dual
US/UK citizenship. Was an “A” League Golfer and excellent bowler. A convert to
Catholicism and a founding member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church Chagrin Falls, OH.
Loved to sing and true to her Welsh heritage had a beautiful alto voice. A great cook,
helped many, supporter of missionaries, loved animals, a woman of great Faith and true
beauty. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to local St. Vincent de Paul Society or
ASPCA.
