Erie Booze Davis' Obituary
Erie Booze Davis, 97, Leesburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2015 at
The Villages Hospice House under the loving care of family and staff of Cornerstone
Hospice. Mrs. Davis was born on January 18, 1918 in Ashville, North Carolina to her
parents William Mansfield Booze and Minnie (McElrath) Booze. She had worked as a
Bookkeeper for Ocala Lime Rock and had moved 25 years ago to Leesburg from Ocala,
Florida. She was a long time member of Community United Methodist Church in Fruitland
Park, Florida and had also attended Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park,
Florida. She loved to work with her hands especially doing quilting and crocheting and
made quilts for the Boggy Creek Gang. She received a special photo from the late
General Norman Schwarzkopf for her gifts she had donated to Boggy Creek Gang. She is
survived by her loving children: Elizabeth Diane Estes of Leesburg, Florida, Bill Davis and
his wife Cheryl of Perrysburg, Ohio and Mary Virginia Russell and her husband Steve of
Ocala, Florida; three grandchildren: Laurie Moore, Bill Watson and Tracey Davis; one
great-grandchild: Cherish Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents and two
sisters, Mildred and Virginia. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 28,
2015 at 11:00AM at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, Florida with Visitation to be
held prior to the service from 10:00AM till the hour of service at the funeral home. The
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida. In lieu of flowers the
family has requested donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice in her loving memory.
Services have been entrusted to Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL.
