Dale I. Lance's Obituary
Dale I. Lance Sr. age 96 passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Tampa, Florida. He was born in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania an moved to the Leesburg area after retiring from the J & L Steel Company where he worked as a Power House Operator after 35 years of continuous service. He was also the former Police Chief of the Hanover Township in Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a Mason (Scottish rite) and Shriner. He was pre-deceased by two wives Georgia and Virgie. Dale was a social person and never met a stranger. He was known at his residence at the Silver Dollar Resort in Odessa, Florida as a charming man who cruised the neighborhood on his golf cart stopping to talk to friends and constantly making new ones, his presence will be greatly missed. Survivors include his son – Dale (Dorothy) Lance Jr. of Follansbee, West Virginia; Daughters – Penny Trovillo of Odessa, Florida; and Donna Lovvorn of Tampa; 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grand Children, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. A celebration of his life with Masonic Rites and Military Honors is planned for 2:00 P. M. – Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel in Downtown Leesburg. (The family will receive friends an hour before the service.) Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
